ARISE Cape Town Fashion Week : Day 2 Recap

Day two of ARISE Cape Town Fashion Week (CTFW) opened with the recent winners of the Arise Fashion Awards, David Tlale and Suzaan Heyns, who brought a new vibe to the catwalk.

David Tlale, in partnership with Luella Shoes, introduced a new collection that was inspired by the designer and will be carried in Luella boutiques. David's runway presentation also featured white ethereal looks accesorized with grey and silver, and bold leopard cat suits.

Suzaan Heyns presented a capsule collection featuring grey and nude tones, harem pants and Peter Pan inspired menswear.

Fashion industry favorite Craig Port debuted his full summer collection showcasing dapper menswear looks, Canine Couture, Craig Port Shoes by Watson and hot male models strutting the catwalk in CP speedos.

Day 2 ended with a stunning presentation of swimwear collections by Lovewaterlove, Dax Martin and Tracy B.

ARISE Cape Town Fashion Week : Day 1 Recap

Blueprint For Style and I enjoyed the first day of Cape Town Fashion Week from the front row, taking in looks by fashion students and emerging designers. CTFW presented The Fresh Show, featuring first-time designers, including underwear label Undacova, Tarien Malherbe and Black Coal by Pumeza Mekuto. Homegrown Cape Town brands Misfit, Sway, Doreen Southwood and Tart also presented their Spring/Summer collections. Tart was selected to show at CTFC for the second time after impressing the 'who's who' on the South African fashion scene at last year's shows. Known for it's excellent construction, fit and relaxed, timeless look, the brand topped expectations this year.

Day one ended with the Foschini/Nokia Design Awards New Generation Show presenting Michelle Ludek's debut at ARISE CTFW with classic, fashionably feminine designs and Lalesso, a brand known for bold prints and beautiful summer wear.
